Emergency crews received a report of a fire in an attic from an occupant residing at 20 Hackett Circle South on Sunday, March 24 around 9:30 a.m.
After arrival, firefighters noticed heavy smoke coming from the third floor of the three-and-a-half-story wooden framed home.
Residents stated that all occupants had safely evacuated the building. Firefighters stretched two hose lines throughout the building while continuing their search for any remaining residents.
No further occupants were found in the building, and fire crews managed to gain control of the blaze by about 10 a.m.
Afterward, the building was inspected for damages. The third floor sustained heavy fire and smoke damage in addition to water damage on the first and second floors.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Seven occupants were displaced and relocated by the American Red Cross.
The scene was cleared by noon. No injuries have been reported.
